Skin Testing Policy
Colour and application within a salon environment is a constant battle to comply with your products and use of until now!
A landmark agreement has been agreed with the Hairdressing industry and Insurers to develop an allergy alert 'colour record card' that allows stylists to gauge whether a client making a colour appointment will need an allergy alert test 48 hours beforehand, or whether it will be safe for the treatment to go ahead without a test.
The 'Allergy Alert Consultation and Colour Record Card' has been developed by the National Hairdressers' Federation and the Freelance Hairdressers Association, working in consultation with the Cosmetic, Toiletry & Perfumery Association (CTPA).
All ‘Just Hair’ Salon policies benefit from the revised 'Skin Test' protocol and will read as follows:
In respect of the requirement to perform a skin test when colouring hair, the following procedures should be followed:
- Complete 'Allergy Alert Consultation and Colour Record Card' and use accompanying Guidelines to ensure compliance
- Any results should be kept on file for 6 years
- The Allergy Alert Consultation and Colour Record Card for clients must be kept for 2 years
